a call to community

profound truth in a recent tweet from rick warren…

“You cannot grow into Christlikeness on your own. It is spiritually, physically, emotionally impossible.”

i absolutely totally wholeheartedly overwhelmingly agree.  if i may be so bold, however, i would presume to elaborate on warren’s axiom with a statement or two of my own…

you cannot grow into christlikeness if sunday morning is the only time you submit yourself to other believers.

you cannot become what god has called you to be if your relationship with jesus is a private matter.

you cannot realize the minimum daily requirement of biblical community if you seek it just once a week.

you cannot grow spiritually if there are not several others with a vested interest your spiritual growth.

you cannot become a disciple if your spiritual pursuit is limited primarily to sunday.

you cannot extract the maximum fulfillment out of your worship time if you mainly worship alone.

okay, reflective readers, please feel free to add a few of your own.
