is christian marketing overdone?

christian mints?  oh, yes! does society really need christian mints?  so when is it enough already?

pete wilson recently wrote a blog about christian marketing that was pretty insightful.  pete said he was inspired by a tweet by derek webb…

The word “christian,” when applied to anything other than a human being, is just a marketing term.

pete writes…

I don’t know if I totally agree, but just think about how often we do that.

     Christian music.

     Christian books.

     Christian label.

     Christian publishers.

     Christian bookstore.

     Christian greeting cards.

     Christian dating service.

     Christian radio.

     Christian camps.

     Christian clothing lines.

What do you think? Is it just a marketing term? Is it overused?

the other day, i was talking to my buddy, mason, (he told me i could relate this story, but asked me not to share his name) about the pervasive nature of christian marketing and he said, “i know…I went into the local christian bookstore the other day looking for christian porn, but i couldn’t find it anywhere.”

mason is funny.
